Family and Children

We believe that children are a blessing from the Lord and we joyfully partner with families to nurture children in the ways of Jesus—both at home and within the church.
Family Discipleship
We believe that the biblical model and responsibility of training up children in the ways of the Lord primarily belongs to parents. Therefore, we encourage and equip parents to lead and love their children through Family Discipleship: teaching your children about our King Jesus through intentional conversations, family worship, prayer, discipline, and teachable moments.

Whether you are parenting with your spouse, a single parent, or the primary caregiver our goal is to come alongside you as you are discipling your children by helping equip you as their primary disciple maker. We desire for you to grow mature in Christ as you are leading your family towards Christ. We want to help you and your family as you continue to know God, love God and live on mission for God.
Corporate Worship
At King’s Fellowship, we value corporate worship for both adults and children. We believe it’s important for kids to be present in the gathering of the saints—to hear the Word preached, see their parents worship Jesus, and be welcomed as part of the church body. While children can be noisy or wiggly at times, we see their presence as a blessing and a reminder of God’s goodness and the love Jesus showed toward children.

Children of all ages are welcome in our Sunday worship services. In fact, older children (kindergarten and up) are expected to remain in the service with their families. Each week, our pastors intentionally include a moment within the sermon that is specifically for the kids. We also provide a Family Worship Guide to help parents engage their children with the message throughout the week.

Sunday Morning Childcare
We currently offer childcare for ages 0–5, divided into two classrooms:
  • 0–3 Year Olds
  • 3–5 Year Olds
Children in the 3–5 year old class begin the service in the sanctuary with their families and are dismissed after the singing portion to continue learning in their classroom.
When you entrust your child to us on Sunday mornings, we make three core promises:
1. Safety
  • Every volunteer is background-checked and trained in our child safety policies.
  • Classrooms are securely monitored, with a secure check-in/check-out process.
  • Our environments are clean, age-appropriate, and allergy-conscious.
2. First-Class Care
  • Volunteers greet each child by name and work to create a welcoming, nurturing space.
  • Children are encouraged to engage at their comfort level—whether through play, story time, or quiet observation.
  • We maintain low child-to-volunteer ratios to ensure each child receives personal attention.
3. Teaching About Jesus
  • Through stories, music, prayer, and intentional play, we introduce children to the love and goodness of Jesus.
  • We use the Jesus Storybook Bible for our 2–5 year olds, helping them see that the Bible is one big story that points to Jesus.

Classroom Goals by Age
0–3 Year Olds
  • Goal: Create a peaceful, nurturing space where each child feels secure and loved.
  • What it looks like: Volunteers pray over the children, sing worship songs, and read short, Jesus-centered stories. Toys and books are carefully selected to reinforce gentle, faith-based engagement.
3–5 Year Olds
  • Goal: Begin helping children understand that Jesus is at the center of God’s big story.
  • What it looks like: Children hear Bible stories from the Jesus Storybook Bible, sing along with worship music, and engage in simple crafts and games that reinforce the weekly message. They learn how to pray, listen, and talk about Jesus in a way that makes sense for their age.
